General Membership Luncheon - September 21, 2010

We understand that employers want to provide health care benefits that meet their employees' needs and offer the best value. In 2009, metroplex employers were expected to spend an average of $9,865 per employee annually for health care benefits, nearly an 6% increase over 2008 costs. Employees' out-of-pocket share will climb to $1,984 on average.*

Leaders of change in healthcare
Bringing together leaders and decision makers from a variety of businesses, the DFW Business Group on Health is a regional, employer-sponsored healthcare coalition.

DFWBGH Launches VBB Project!

On August 26, DFWBGH launched the Texas Health Strategy Project, a new program to assist employers in coordinating and aligning their health benefits to improve the health of their employees and their families. Part of a national effort sponsored by the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) in cooperation with Pfizer Inc., the program will help DFW area employers implement a structured, data-driven, value-based approach to benefits design to ensure that their workforce has access to high quality, evidence-based and cost-effective health care by reducing barriers to essential services and motivating employees to make wise lifestyle and health care decisions. Participating DFWBGH members include Archon Group, Brinker International, City of McKinney, City of Mesquite, Energy Future Holdings, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Haggar Clothing Co., Interstate Batteries, and Triumph Aerostructures. The project will provide hands-on technical assistance and financial support to assist the DFWBGH and their employer members.
