Examining changes in presenteeism and clinical symptoms in a workforce mental health benefits program

Researchers examined the effects of employee participation in Workplace Mental Health Benefits Program on symptoms of anxiety and depression. The study found that baseline anxiety and depression symptoms were associated with high presenteeism. Further results indicated that employees who participated in the program and saw symptom improvement had reduced presenteeism. Employers should consider mental health needs to improve productivity.
