Join the Employers Leading on Early Kidney Care
A resource from the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions & American Kidney Fund
November 24th, 2025
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects millions of working-age adults and is a growing driver of health care costs and productivity loss for employers. The National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, in partnership with the American Kidney Fund (AKF), has released a new employer-focused resource: Healthy Workforces, Sustainable Futures: Why Employers Should Invest in Early Kidney Care.
This issue brief highlights how early CKD screening, prevention, and intervention can:
-
Improve workforce health and quality of life
-
Slow progression to kidney failure
-
Reduce avoidable high-cost claims and downstream medical expense
As part of this initiative, the National Alliance and AKF are looking for real-world employer examples of early kidney care strategies, such as CKD screening programs, targeted outreach for high-risk populations, benefits changes that support early diagnosis and treatment, or partnerships with kidney care vendors.
DFWBGH employers: Share your CKD initiatives
If your organization is taking action on early kidney care, you are invited to share your story. Selected employers may be featured nationally as innovators in workforce health, with opportunities for recognition, media coverage, and storytelling.
To be considered, please either:
-
Email a short description of your initiative directly to Nancy Gregory, Senior Director of Communications, American Kidney Fund, at ngregory@kidneyfund.org, or
-
Contact the DFWBGH office, and we will help make the connection.
-
Timing: The National Alliance and AKF are hoping to identify at least two employers per region by December 3.
